A voice described as having a “mysterious transparency”
“mekakushe” is a female solo singer-songwriter who writes her own lyrics and music, sings, and plays the piano.
She began studying classical piano at age 3 and gradually shifted her focus to pop music. Her musical style continues to expand, ranging from electronica-based recordings to classical solo performances and band sets in live shows.
In April 2021, she independently released her debut album, *I Want to Move Forward Like Light*. It became a hot topic among discerning listeners, landing as the opening track on various official streaming playlists and earning her recognition as a cover artist. Despite being unsigned, she was selected to provide the theme song for a Kao Laurier TV commercial and was featured on the radio shows of actors Takumi Saitoh and Tina Tamashiro.
In November 2023, she made her debut through Bandai Namco Music Live. She established her own label, akogare records, and announced five consecutive monthly releases. She held a solo concert at a sold-out Shibuya WWW.
In 2024, she performed the ending theme and insert songs for the TV anime *Kowloon Generic Romance*.
To commemorate the second anniversary of her debut, she held the “mekakushe Planetarium Acoustic Live ~Love in the 13.8 Billionth Year~” at Konica Minolta in Yurakucho.
While active as a singer-songwriter, her keen musical sense has been highly regarded, and she also works as a songwriter. To date, she has provided songs for Himitsu no Aipuri, Shina Pyshu, Dempagumi.inc, THE IDOLM@STER, and Yuka Nagase, establishing herself as a new-generation artist active on both fronts—as a performer and as a songwriter.
akogare records
The word “akogare” in the label name is a significant term for mekakushe, who has continued to sing about her longing for the things she cherishes and her ideals through her music production. The name was chosen with the hope that “akogare records” will one day become an object of admiration for others as well.
